Jesmond Parish Church Hockey Club, based in Newcastle upon Tyne, was established by a group from Jesmond Parish Church who loved playing hockey together and loved God and wanted to bring the two together.
Started at the back end of the 1990s, it was formally established in the summer of 2002 in order to enter the local leagues that September. We have two men's teams and a ladies' team, offering hockey to all, from the seasoned veteran to the enthusiastic junior. We have a thriving junior hockey section, and a social hockey programme designed with adult beginners in mind.
As a church club, we are founded and run on Christian principles, but we welcome anyone who is passionate about hockey. Consequently, the aim is to play hockey competitively but fairly. As much emphasis is placed on the sportsmanship of the teams as the results of the matches. All are welcomed and encouraged to come and play regardless of background and faith.
